UK & International Alcohol Market Data Services

Structured alcohol market datasets, dashboards and scheduled reporting for the UK and selected international markets.

The commission

What the work covers

Organise published or appropriately licensed alcohol market information and client-authorised aggregate business data into structured datasets, reporting tables and dashboards. Projects can cover category size and trends, published import and export statistics, publicly advertised prices and distribution or channel indicators. Coverage can include the UK nations and selected international countries, states, provinces, regions or cities where suitable data is available.

Record source references, reporting periods, geographic coverage, definitions, units, currencies and relevant tax or pack-size assumptions. Distinguish reported observations from estimates, document changes in methods and qualify comparisons where sources differ. Agree the fields, formats, quality checks and update schedule to support commercial planning and repeatable market reporting.

How we approach the work

  1. Agree the UK and international jurisdictions, alcohol categories, measures, intended users, formats and update frequency.
  2. Review permitted sources and aggregate business data, check definitions and units, and confirm access, confidentiality and reuse arrangements.
  3. Deliver the dataset and reporting view with source references, documented quality checks, comparison limits and scheduled updates.

Scope and boundaries

Data access, source licences and any client reproduction or redistribution rights are agreed before use; public availability alone does not establish permission to reuse information. Client business data is kept separate and used only for that client's agreed commission. Outputs are dated commercial research resources, not investment recommendations, investment transaction arrangements, financial audits, legal opinions, trading permissions or compliance certification. Coverage and updates depend on source availability and the agreed schedule. Personal profiles, contact lists, confidential competitor strategy and exchanges of competitors' non-public pricing or output plans are outside scope. We do not coordinate competitors' prices or set fixed or minimum resale prices. International work is subject to applicable local laws and excludes overseas lobbying, campaigns to influence non-UK public decisions, public-authority representation and arranging those activities through others. Any UK lobbying requires a separate mandate, direct delivery within the UK and applicable registration and disclosure checks.

Scope and independence

Lobbying and representation before public authorities are delivered directly by Alcohol Ltd within the UK and only in relation to UK public bodies. We do not undertake or arrange lobbying of foreign governments, legislatures, regulators or international public bodies, directly, remotely or through intermediaries.

International work covers research, commercial analysis, media, publishing and private-sector trade event support. It excludes campaigns to influence non-UK public decisions, representation to non-UK public authorities and arranging others to provide those services.

Commercial research uses sources and documents whose disclosure and use are permitted for the project. Personal data needs an appropriate lawful basis, privacy information and any applicable overseas-transfer safeguards. Investment recommendations, investment transaction arrangements, financial audits and compliance certification are outside this research service.

Client approval concerns commissioned deliverables and factual checks. Editors retain responsibility for independent publication, corrections and removal decisions. A commercial commission does not buy favourable independent coverage, the suppression of legitimate reporting, editorial endorsement or control over our policy positions. Confidential journalistic sources are not made available through commercial client approval.

Our regulated editorial material follows the Editors' Code of Practice, including accuracy, distinguishing fact from opinion and conjecture, privacy and timely corrections with due prominence. IPSO regulates editorial material within its remit; it does not approve our consultancy, research, PR or lobbying services. Advertising is clearly identified where applicable.

Appointments require an agreed written brief and checks on the client, conflicts, sanctions and any applicable registration, disclosure, data-use and permission requirements before work begins. Scope, fees and responsibilities are agreed separately, subject to our service and jurisdictional terms.
